Christkindl – Ballonpost „Freunde der Öst. Ballonpost“ und des „Öst. Flugpostsammlervereins“. In December 2011 the 14th Christkindl-Ballonpost will take place, again organised by the both societies „Freunde der Öst. Ballonpost“ and „Öst. Flugpostsammlerverein durchführen wird. The covers will have the Christkindl – adhesive on which the special postmark „Stille Nacht“ Oberndorf near Salzburg will be stamped. After this, the Ballonpost covers go to the „Christkindl“ Post Office and will be stamped with the special cancellation on 24.12.10. The Ballonpost covers will have their own special board cachet as well as a postmark with the data of the flight.

"De Vliegende Hollander" is celebrating its 75th year with a air mail exhibition in Apeldoorn NL on 14-16 October 2011 in the Americahal together with the national stamp exhibition POSTEX 2011. We have 120 frames in total. There will be a special cover (in a two formats) with a special postmark of this exhibition as we also celebrate the 50th Day of Aerophilately on The same event. The cover has a special personalized stamp of our society.
Secondly, the Dutch Airmail catalogue will be updated with a new edition covering the airmai from the Netherlands and its former colonies. Both covers and catalogue can be ordered.

The first flight of Lufthansa from Frankfurt to Aberdeen will take place on October 30th 2011. A special postmark is in preparation at Franfurt as well as in Aberdeen. The address for the airport is :

Please take note that you put a 68p stamp at the left down corner for the postmark at Aberdeen. You can send covers at Neunkirchen until October 20th 2011.

At the occasion of the 17th Thüringer Montgolfiade from 19 to 21 August in Heldburg, the Ballonsportclub Thüringen e.V. organises, in cooperation with Aero-Philatelisten-Club Deutschland, a ballonpost delivery by hot-air balloon on 20th August 2011.

On 14th August 1901 Gustav Weißkopf made the first flight with an engine at Fairfield near Bridgeport in the state Connecticut, USA, with his self made  "Whitehead No. 21", propulsed by his self-made engins.

The national exposition “AEROMFILA 2011” marks on June 24, 2011, the 85 years since the inauguration of the first lines BUCURESTI – GALATI – IASI and BUCURESTI – GALATI – CHISINAU. The exposition, at its 26th edition is organized by Romanian Philatelic Federation - Aerophilately Commission, the Cultural Foundation "Bartoc", from 23 to 26 June 2011 in Bucharest at the Museum of History and held under the patronage of Mrs. Boagiu Minister - Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. Also, the exhibition "AEROMFILA 2011" has the patronage of the International Federation of Societies of Aerophilately (FISA).

Attached is an advertising for a new book just released in Australia. Tom Frommer was a Board Member after the resignation of Nelson Eustis and is still a member of the Australian Airmail Society. Charles Leski is an Auctioneer in Australia and publishes Aerophilately books including the Australian Airmail Catalogue (which is also now edited by Tom Frommer).

The 45^th Congress and General Meeting of F.I.S.A took place on Saturday May 14^th, 2011 at Graz-Unterpremstätten, Austria on the occasion of Övebria 2011.

During this important session, the members and the board discussed about the futur of FISA and all clubs were asked to renew their cooperation with FISA by sending as much information as possible to the Secretary-General and to the Webmaster, preferably in [WORD] or [PDF] file.

Henri Nierinck passed away in January, after battling Alzheimer’s decease for many years. Henri was born in Oostende, Belgium in 1925. He did extensive worldwide research on air crash mail and created a large collection of air crash covers.

On December 26th at 21:15 pm our beloved Honorary President and very good friend Kuno Sollors died in the hospital after he was in a coma for about one week.
